Letter
from the Chairman of the Board - Larry Hibbler |

The Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce takes great pride in its role as an
advocate for local business owners and in assisting local companies in
growing their businesses. The primary focus of the Chamber is to attract and
retain business in the City; and we are pleased to report the addition of
several new restaurants, retail stores, executive suites and medical plazas
over the last year.
The mission of the Simi Valley Chamber could not
be achieved without continued support from and collaboration with the City of
Simi Valley. We share mutual goals of improving the business community and
quality of life in Simi Valley. One of our most successful collaborations has
been the "Shop Simi Valley First" campaign, which educates residents about
local products and services available in the city and encourages them to
spend their dollars in Simi Valley, where every dollar makes a difference. Throughout the year, the Simi Valley Chamber hosts numerous events to
showcase local businesses, such as the Street Fair, Mega Mixers, the State of
the City and State of the State Luncheons, monthly Business Development
Luncheons, Ribbon Cutting ceremonies for new businesses, the Taste of Simi,
and monthly Chamber Breakfast meetings. This year, we plan to continue this
tradition of events, as well as the sponsorship of trips abroad. We are
excited about the lineup of trips scheduled, which include Australia, Greece
and Italy.
The Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce has worked hard to
earn its four-star accreditation rating and is among the top 4% of Chambers
nationwide. Chamber members represent an array of business categories ranging
from retail stores to car dealerships, restaurants, hotels, advertising
agencies, marketing firms ,insurance, engineering, banking, and medical ; and
in 2008 more than 170 new businesses joined . The 2009 Simi Valley of Chamber
of Commerce Business Directory provides a comprehensive listing of all
members and includes vital contact information for each company listed; as
well as general information about the City of Simi Valley, such as major
employers, estimated revenues, places of interest, and an overview of the
business industry in the city.
The Chamber of Commerce is excited
about the future of this community and will continue to promote its great
qualities and assets. The Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce is the Heartbeat of
Business.
