Simi Valley Community Foundation
A non-profit 501(c)(3) Corporation
Tax ID# IRS 91-2053374

The Simi Valley Community Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 charitable foundation that supports the Simi Valley community in the areas of social and human services.

The Simi Valley Community Foundation has launched the Simi Valley Alliance for Human Services, to coordinate charitable services under one roof, to become more accessible to anyone who needs support and to raise funds for the needy, in order to meet the growing demands of children, families, seniors, veterans, individuals and the needy within our community as a one stop facility for social services.

The foundation also manages other non-profit charitable funds, at no charge, for loved ones that have passed away or a fund for family members with illnesses, enabling relatives and friends the ability to raise funds without having to open their own charitable organization. The foundation also manages these other non-profit charitable funds such as the Tutino Family Scholarship fund, Honey Lanning Simi Swim Fund, Debbie McCarthy Cancer Fund, Paul Kalagyi Fund and the Witeby/Finnegan Fund. Simi Valley residents and Chamber Members have the opportunity to donate to these specific causes or a cause of their choice.

As a result of our fundraising activities, such as the Mayor’s Dinner Charity Auction and Humanitarian Awards, the foundation has contributed over $50,000 to Simi Valley charities.

In addition, all of Leadership Simi Valley’s class projects are managed through the foundation. Safe Harbor, Hearing Aids for Classrooms, The Battered Women’s Shelter and the newly opened Teen Center are examples of Leadership class projects.

Simi Valley Alliance For Human Services

“UNDER ONE ROOF” PROJECT

The Simi Valley Community Foundation, the Simi Valley Chamber’s charitable foundation, is going forward with plans to coordinate charitable services in order to meet the growing demands of children, families, seniors and the needy within our community by creating a whole new integrated way of having all social services coordinated under one roof, becoming more accessible for anyone who needs support.

There would be multiple services and programs—under one roof—for women and children, veterans, seniors, individuals, families and the needy as a one stop shop for social services and we would provide our tenants over $250,000 savings per year by providing them free rent, thus allowing their fundraising dollars for their actual causes instead of for overhead.

The City’s charitable organizations provide services to the needy on a non-discriminatory, non-sectarian basis. The proposed facility also will offer a variety of conveniences for people using the programs. It will centralize many existing programs under one roof, making it easier for clients to access services and expanding the capacity of services to help thousands of people in need each year while improving the effectiveness and efficiency of service to the public.
