For over 70 years, the Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce has been welcoming visitors, new residents and providing forums for our members businesses to flourish. We collectively make a difference through partnerships with government, education and associate organizations to help make Simi Valley a better place to live, work and play. We continue to maintain a strong core of membership, develop new programs and react to the ever-changing economic and social environment.
Simi Valley offers quality education, an array of shopping sites, numerous family parks, varied recreational opportunities, great climate and an extremely low crime rate. Community leaders and city government have created an environment where people and businesses can prosper.
The Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce serves a valuable role as a liaison between business and the city and state government. From lobbying to maintaining a Governmental Review Council, The Chamber keeps abreast of current legislation and continuously works to improve the business climate. Additionally, The Chamber serves a vital role within the business community providing business development programs, support services and marketing, and networking.
The partnership between the City of Simi Valley and The Chamber of Commerce plays an important role in enhancing and improving the level of products and services provided to local residents. The Chamber of Commerce also serves as a liaison between the city and local businesses on issues regarding expansion, relocation, conforming to legal guidelines, etc. Each year The Chamber hosts the “State of the City” address presented by the Mayor, and a “Meet the Candidates Forum" every election year, providing an opportunity for the community to come face to face with their government leaders.
The City of Simi Valley is governed under the council/manager form of local government most responsive to the needs and wishes of its citizens while providing maximum efficiency in conducting the affairs of a general law city. The City Council is comprised of five elected officials and works closely with The Chamber of Commerce to maintain a business climate supportive of the business community.

The Chamber functions as the headquarters for the business community by representing member businesses before government bodies and conducting joint promotional activities. It provides an opportunity for members to become directly involved in community issues and to express their views on developments that may affect their business. A safe city translates into more sales and greater profits for local business, as the community does not hesitate to shop after dark. Merchants can focus their energies on sales and products as opposed to security and businesses can feel safe and secure in keeping long hours. Additionally, Simi Valley has been ranked in the top ten percent of cities in California for business growth by major national publications based on criteria that include quality of life, educational opportunities, pro-business climate, economic incentives, labor pool and available infrastructure.

- Sponsor and produce annual Street Fair

- More than 500 visitors and tourists receive information about our community at the chamber offices each month
- Over 300 of our Leadership Simi Valley alumni are making a difference in our community through their leadership and volunteer efforts
- Web site visits and publication distribution remains the number one place that residents and visitors are finding information about Simi Valley
- Produce annual events such as Street Fair and Business Expo
- The Salute To Business Recognition Luncheon recognizes citizens and businesses for their contributions to the community
- Tourism Bureau established to welcome tourists, visitors and provide information regarding the attractions such as the Ronald Reagan Presidential Museum, Air Force One and other activities of the city
- Implementation of the Tourism Marketing District with the City of Simi Valley and the Simi Lodging industry
- The Chamber Website and Publications promote Simi Valley every day
- Leadership Simi Valley Program promotes every aspect of the community and the leaders that manage the city, parks, police, education, non-profits, attractions and local businesses

Representing the Interests of Business To Government
The Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce is the voice of business to the Simi Valley City Council, Sacramento and Washington, D.C. Through our Government Review Council, we promote business interests at all levels of government. Activities include:
- Visits to the State capitol and Washington DC with a delegation to meet with legislators about bills that impact business
- Publishing and distribution of Chamber’s positions on the November ballot initiatives
- Publishing voting records of State Legislators
- Monthly Government meetings with Federal, State, Local and other legislative officials through our Legislative Affairs program
- Weekly conference calls with the California State Chamber to monitor critical legislation as it moves through the process
- Joined the County Legislative Alliance (CCA) to ensure that regional issues are being discussed as an advantage to our membership
- Took positions on business job killer legislation which included tax increases, health care mandates, workers comp reform, employment workforce issues, frivolous lawsuits and utility concerns
Influencing Political Action
