Whether you are celebrating a grand opening, re-opening or a milestone anniversary, the Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce provides members with their first ribbon cutting at no cost! The Chamber invites its Board of Directors, Ambassadors, Members and elected officials to your Ribbon Cutting to help you celebrate the special day!
If you are interested in scheduling a Ribbon Cutting for your business, please complete this application. Once the application is received, our Membership Director will contact you to confirm a date and time. We require at least a three week notice to provide as much publicity for your event as possible!
Please note that Ribbon cuttings are reserved for new business openings, location changes or re-openings, new businesses joining the chamber, milestone anniversaries (5, 10, 15, etc. years in business). We would love to be able to accommodate every request, however due to the popularity of these events and the busy schedule of our elected officials, board members, and ambassadors, the Chamber has chosen to limit the celebrations to the above circumstances. Each member has the opportunity to do one Ribbon Cutting every 5 years, so please plan accordingly.

We highly recommend the following to make your event most successful:
- Schedule your event at least three weeks in advance using the Ribbon Cutting Application. - Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays are usually the best days of the week for business people - The best times are 8:00 a.m. or noon but, please, no earlier than 8:00 a.m. Please be aware that after hours, holiday and weekend ribbon cuttings may have low attendance from the business community and elected officials, board members, ambassadors, and chamber staff may not be available.
- Send out media releases to the local news agencies and post your event on the on-line calendars in the region
- Provide giveaways, especially logo items that guests can take back to their offices. The Chamber is happy to supply a list of Chamber members who can help you create gifts.
- Food and beverages are not required, but many members provide them. If your ribbon cutting falls during the lunch hour, we strongly recommend serving food as many of our Elected Officials, Board Members, and Ambassadors attend these events in place of their lunch break. The Simi Valley Chamber strongly encourages you to use chamber members for Ribbon Cutting catering. You can find an updated restaurant list at www.simivalleychamber.org
- Providing music makes ribbon cuttings more successful and brings more people to the event.
